This is how we spend the last evening of the year

It is with these people that I love so much. If you don't know me very well you may not know that my aunt and uncle are like parents to me and their boys are like my brothers. I spent a ton of time with them throughout my childhood. I also lived with them from the summer after my 9th grade year until I got married.
It has been a tradition for as long as I can remember to have a fondue dinner on New Year's Eve. Let me just say that my family has some fabulous cooks.

My cousin Dave's wife Jessica starting bringing this amazing cheese fondue last year.
She brings different veggies and breads to dip. My cousin Steve has mastered making artisan bread. He brought several loaves tonight to dip. My eyes welled up when I took my first bite of this bread with the cheese. (I have been on a very strict diet for the past month so this meal was even better than usual for me. yes, I cheated tonight).
We have always done the meat fondue. Its so fun to cook your little pieces of meat in the fondue pot and try out different sauces. The kids love it.

We use to dip our fruits, cakes, donuts, pretzels in a bowl of chocolate fondue. Now my cousin's wife Christina brings her chocolate fountain. So fun and delicious!

Oh no, we can't stop there! My aunt and uncle make homemade ice cream! This is how we end the year.

I am glad to say good-bye to 2010. I am looking forward to a fresh start with a new year.
Happy New Year to you!
