Chicken Pillows

(isabel's 1st day of kindergarten)
I have been so excited to get this recipe from Michelle. She made this for my family when Oliver was in the hospital in March. It was so delicious. It was comfort food, and we needed that. I haven't made it yet but I will be tonight!
Chicken Pillows
(Michelle Gourdin)
1 - 8oz cream cheese
5 TBS butter (soft)
lemon pepper, parsley, Lawry's to taste (whatever seasonings you like). 2 cups cooked/cubed chicken
1 package crescent rolls
Italian bread crumbs
1 can cream of mushroom
Mix the first 3 ingredients. Add cooked chicken, set aside. Open the crescents. Squeeze the seams together so that they are long rectangles and then cut them into squares. Put a spoonful or 2 of chicken/cream cheese mixture on 1 half and then roll the crescent roll over and pinch the seams on all 3 sides so that it looks like a pillow. Roll the pillows in butter (about 3 TBS melted butter) then roll them in the Italian Seasoned bread crumbs. Bake for 15 min @ 375. You won't use all the chicken mixture...you need the rest of it for the gravy...which is: 1 can cream of mushroom, 1/2 c water and the rest of the cream cheese/chicken mixture. serve chicken pillows with the gravy on top :) Enjoy!
