the results are in...

Oliver had labs done this morning. The results were great.

white blood cell count 5,400 (totally normal!!)

anc 1.1

platelets 180 (way better than last time)

hematacrit 34.4

Aside from throwing up tonight he is in good spirits. We are pretty sure it is because his new anti-nausea medication isn't working. We are hoping to get him switched back to his old kind tomorrow. It is just $10 more a month but worth every penny if it makes him feel better. It was kind of scary for me when he threw up. I have all of these thoughts coming rushing in "is he okay" "is the cancer coming full force" "why is he throwing up, it can't be good". I know I am a stress case but this is all new. We have to wear gloves (which is a good idea anyway) to clean up the vomit since it is hazardous waste. This is due to the chemo medication. We have to call the Oncologist on-call, make sure Oliver doesn't have a temperature, and watch him closely. It is going to be a little different now when he gets sick. One more thing to keep me up at night :) He seems to be doing fine since the "episode". He ate a pb and j and went to bed. I think I am off to attempt to catch some z's. Goodnight.

I'm glad he had good labs! That is wonderful. That stinks about not feeling good. I know what you mean about worrying about the throwing up. When Miles got ITP and started throwing up after his blood treatments, I was so freaked out that he was having an allergic reaction. Luckily it was just a reaction to the meds, but that feeling was the worst. I hope you have a great weekend!

So great to hear Beck, that has got to take some stress off. Hope you are doing good and able to relax a bit.

Glad to hear that his labs are doing good. I'm slow getting caught up but wanted to comment on previous post about him getting tolerant to the Gleevec. They are coming up with new cancer medications all the time and who knows, by then they'll probably have another one that he'll respond to. Gleevec was such a HUGE advance with cancer and I am glad to hear that he is doing well with it. You all are constantly in our prayers.
