All is well in Oliver Land

Oliver had is check up with our favorite Dr. B yesterday. His white blood cell count is at 5,100! All of the other test results came back great as well. He will be getting another bone marrow aspiration on June 24Th. It will be an outpatient procedure. Dr. B says it should be a LOT less painful this time around. Oliver has been doing great. He is excited for summer and excited for one of his best friends to move back to our neighborhood. The only issues he has had are concerns for the possibility on the "bone marrow transplant". He sincerely asked me if I would have to have another baby with his biological dad in order to have a donor match. Uh, nope. There are thousands of donors out there waiting to help. They don't allow family or friends to be the donor unless it is a sibling. Since Oliver's siblings have a different dad it won't work. He also sincerely asked if they gave him the marrow of a girl if he would start to turn into a girl. Uh, nope again. Poor guy worrying about that. I feel so bad that he has these worries and fears. I try to be as open as possible with him. Sometimes I just don't have the answers. This is why we are so blessed to have a Heavenly Father to comfort us even if we don't get an "answer". We know that Oliver is being blessed. We love and appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers, gifts, meals, etc. THANK YOU, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I love you ALL!

He never ceases to crack me up! What a cute kid! And now I will secretly hope that if and when the awful day comes when he has to get a transplant, that it comes from a girl. Just so I can tease him about it. And if that day comes, sign me up. I'll gladly donate.
