Rosemary Bread

I have been SO bad at cooking a decent meal lately. It was high-time I redeem myself, or try to anyway. My husband is a bread-lovin' kinda guy so I knew making bread as part of dinner would be a good choice for my soon to be redemption. I have been wanting to try this recipe from the Deals to Meals blog. (FYI-I don't have a membership but I follow their blog for awesome recipes)
It was super easy to make but I was worried about the consistency of my dough. It was nothing like it was supposed to be. Surprisingly it turned out great. Slap a little more butter on your slice and mmm, mmm, goodness! Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

Macaroni Grill Rosemary Bread

2 T. yeast

2 T. sugar

2 T. olive oil (or regular cooking oil)

2 c. hot water

6-7 c. flour (white, wheat or half & half)

2 T. rosemary

2 t. salt

Add yeast, sugar, water and 1 c. of the flour in a bowl. Let rise in bowl for 10 minutes. Add the salt, rosemary, olive oil and the rest of the flour until the dough ball is smooth and slightly sticky to the touch. Roll dough into two large round loaves, or four small. Place the round loaves of dough on a greased cookie sheet. Let the bread rise until they double in size (about 30-40 minutes). Bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes, or until top is golden brown. When out of the oven, melt butter over the top of the bread and then sprinkle with extra salt.

P.S. For the main course I made Beach Street Lemon Chicken Linguine. It was good but pretty lemony. So if you like lemon you should give this a try.

I am glad you liked this recipe. It is a great bread recipe that goes with nearly every dinner meal-yum!

Hey...question for you. So, let's be honest here. If you have a hard time meal planning and cooking (according to your post?), then why aren't you a member of Deals to Meals? That is what we are all about. I would LOVE to hear your feedback. Is it the $4.95? Does it seem too confusing? I love hearing feedback from mom's to see why they don't use our service. I love feedback (good or bad) to know why and how we can help our service be easier to use or more marketable. You seem like an awesome down-to-earth mom who could give me your thoughts and suggestions.

Either way, I am glad you follow my blog--that is fabulous :)

Have a great day and I wish you continued happy cooking!

homemade Bread is so dangerous! it causes many trips into the kitchen to re-sample it with lots o' butter and possibly a little jam or honey...evil good stuff!
